The pigeons in my backyard 
Are like friends to me 
They eagerly fly to me 
Landing on my outstretched hand 
To eat the seeds I offer them 

It warms my heart 
To see their trust in me 
Knowing that they feel safe 
And comfortable in my presence 

These gentle creatures 
Bring a sense of peace 
And joy to my day 
I am grateful for the bond we share
