Poetry For Jesus
Woke up to a broken sky again
Clouds of old grudges hangin' low
Need to find a way to breathe
Gotta let this burden go
Saw you on the corner with your head down
Pain etched deep in your face
Want to reach out but I’m scared
Memories I can’t erase
Forgive not forget
The wounds they never show
Compassion’s the only way
To heal the scars we know
Words that hurt like razor blades
Time don’t make 'em fade away
Love's the only cure we got
In this crooked world we sway
Turning a blind eye to the pain
Ain't how we should be
Helpin’ hands in the dark
Gives us all a chance to be free
Got to stand up from the ashes
Hold each other tight again
Seek the good in every shadow
In forgiveness find our name
